I'm a pastor's son, and I've spent my whole life in the Church. I put song lyrics up from overhead transparencies, then from OpenSong; I led the youth group, served on the worship team and preached, until I became a pastor myself, at Kościół Pełnia in Wieliczka. I know the local church inside out, in a small town and in a big city.
I can't count the Sundays I walked in not knowing where I'd be needed, who was doing what, or what the plan for the service was. Everything happened in Messenger groups, which most people had muted anyway.
In Kraków I first saw a tool that brings order to ministries, the service plan and the schedule. But it was made for American churches, and a lot works differently here. So I built ChurchPlace: first for our church, and now for every church in Poland.
When everything is planned and everyone knows what they're doing, it's easier to listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit and respond to what He wants to do.
ChurchPlace isn't finished. Something may be missing, something may not work. But I use it myself every day, so every report comes to me and I answer each one personally. I want the app to help as much as possible and get in the way as little as possible, so you can focus on what matters most: carrying the gospel in Poland and beyond.
